HOW TO ESTABLISH YOURSELF AS AN EXPERT

You’ve read all the marketing suggestions about establishing yourself as an expert in your field, but how do you do it? For most of us, we’re hesitate to call ourselves an “expert” because we think others may perceive us as arrogant. However, the truth is, if you’re good at what you do, you are an expert, and many people are looking for advice from you. Consider your life and what has led you to the point you are at, your work, your education, your training, your commitment and your dedication will help you to serve others.

  • Determine your niche. Be an expert in something specific. You can’t be everything to everyone. Catering to everyone will make your message inefficient. The more defined your niche is, the more you will be able to connect to your target audience.
  • *Share your knowledge via many platforms:
    • Blog posts
    • Reels
    • eBooks
    • Podcasts
    • Webinars
    •  In-person speaking events
  • Collaborate with others that you trust and respect. Brainstorm different ways to co-create and cross-promote one another. An example of this is a homebuilder collaborating with a home furnishing store. Both complement one another without being in direct competition.
  • Last but not least, be consistent. It is important to produce good content and put it out there regularly. Consistency produces trust and credibility. You’ve spent the time and energy to build your business and reputation, show your audience your commitment.

Remember, there is no magical line to cross before you can be considered an expert in your field, just own it! You’ve worked hard for it!
